May 30, 2013 - Jacqueline Hope Loftis Campbell, 79, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, peacefully at home.

A native of Greer, she was a daughter of the late J. Roy and Lois Foster Loftis, a retired dental assistant and was a member of Praise Cathedral. She worked diligently by her husband's side as he held many positions in the church over 40 years; she was a dedicated pianist and organist in her church for many years under several great music directors. Jacqueline devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren and was faithful to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Laura Lou Reid Powell

May 5, 2013 - Laura Lou Powell, 64, died May 5, 2013, at home after a struggle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Claude & Bettie Powell and wife of the late Henry A. (Hank) Wilson.

After graduating from Winthrop with a degree in guidance & counseling, Laura taught physical education for 28 years at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, SC. Her duties included coaching tennis, track, volleyball, gymnastics and cheerleading.

Laura received state and national recognition as a tennis coach, helped to organize the first statewide tennis coaches association, and began the first Rock Hill School District physical education program for students with special needs. She was an avid tennis player for 32 years and spent her retirement officiating college tennis matches and both junior and adult sanctioned tournaments.

Laura was an active member of Zoar United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer.
