Bobby J. McCauley

December 28, 2013 - Bobby J. McCauley, 80, of Greer, died December 28, 2013, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Caroline Hartsell McCauley.

He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Pharmacy. He was retired from Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals where he worked in sales and management. He served the United States Air Force as pharmacy officer at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after flight training at Spence Air Force Base in Moultrie, Georgia.

He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. He was a Gideon, a member of the Greenville South Camp. He was a member of the Greenville Wood Workers Guild. He was a member of the Greenville Salvation Army Advisory Board and was a strong advocate for the planning and completion of the Kroc Center. For over ten years he coordinated volunteers to ring Red Kettle Bells in Taylors.

Hundreds of Taylors First Baptist Church members and friends waited for Bob?s call each November. On December 12, at the Salvation Army?s Annual Luncheon, Taylors First Baptist Church and the Red Kettle Volunteers were presented the 2013 Volunteer Group of the Year Award.

He was an outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and adventure travel in Alaska, Montana and Colorado, always in the company of good friends and many times with grandsons in tow. But the times he enjoyed the most were spent near home, on Lake Jocassee, trout fishing and soaking up the natural beauty of the upstate, in the company of his beloved grandsons.

He was predeceased by his parents, Broadus and Elsie McCauley of Travelers Rest, and by a brother, John Charles McCauley of Bluffton, South Carolina.

Wilbur Edward Satterfield

December 27, 2013 - Wilbur Edward Satterfield, 82, husband of Lottie Ann Hamby Satterfield for 65 years, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, December 27, 2013.

Wilbur was born February 19, 1931, in Greenville County to the late Grady and Hattie Walls Satterfield. He served in the United States Air Force, retired from Homelite, and was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

Wilbur, known by most as "Papa Wilbur", lived to make others smile. He was an avid golfer and played weekly with a group at Lakeview Golf Course. As a baseball fan, he coached his sons' youth teams at Texize, and later in life, you could find him in the stands cheering for his grandson, and most recently his great grandson, playing the game he loved. Wilbur was also an amazing cook and prepared Sunday dinner each week for his family and anyone that walked through his doors.

A native of Watertown, Wisconsin, son of the late Henry Joseph Loken and Lydia Mallow Loken Hilker. He was a former dairy farmer in Wisconsin, a retired employee of Fiber Industries, and a member of Suber Road Baptist Church.

December 22, 2013 - Fred Edward Howard, 93, of N. Highway 101, died December 22, 2013 at McCall Hospice House.

A native of Greenville County, son of the late William Pinkney and Maude Lockhart Howard, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Mr. Howard was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Mrs. Henderson was the daughter of the late James Golden and Annie Mae Westmoreland. She was retired from Greer Federal Savings and Loan Association and a life-long member of Memorial U.M.C. of Greer.

A native of Lyman, son of the late Ralph Washington and Eva Rhodes Bolding, he was a graduate of Byrnes High School where he was an outstanding athlete, and a 1963 graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Industrial Management.

During his career he worked in manufacturing, sales, media and real estate. He was owner and operator of Bolding Real Estate for 25 years and was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Bolding was a US Army Veteran Officer who served in Germany after college.
