Ryan's parent company entertaining possible sale, capital infusion

Ovation Brands Inc., a Greer-headquartered owner of Ryan’s and four other buffet brands, has announced it has hired financial advisors Duff & Phelps to assist in a possible sale of the business.
Ovation CEO Anthony Wedo told Nation’s Restaurant News, there are “several interested parties,” but it’s too early to say whether the company will be sold.
Room of Honor at Ryan's showcases greater Greer's contributions to military

Step into the Room of Honor at Ryan’s Restaurant at 1501 W. Poinsett Street and sense the reverence, respect, pride and camaraderie.
Pictures of favorite sons of greater Greer communities tell the stories of military contributions and sacrifices in wars dating from World War I. Pictures of sons who followed their fathers in conflict on behalf of a grateful nation are aligned to reflect their relationships.
Zaxby's contributes portion of proceeds to Children's Miracle Network

Zaxby’s on Wade Hampton Blvd. held a fundraiser for Miss Greater Greer Anna Brown Tuesday night. Ten percent of the restaurant's proceeds benefited the Children’s Miracle Network.

Anna Brown, Miss Greater Greer, will be available for photos and autographs at Zaxby’s, 920 W. Wade Hampton Blvd., Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
The event is a fundraiser with Zaxby’s contributing 10 percent of its proceeds, sit down or takeout, during the appearance, to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network.
Subway restaurants donate 5,000 meals, $25,000 to S.C. National Guard

Subway restaurants in South Carolina plan to donate 5,000 catered meals and $25,000 for S.C. National Guard troops participating in Vigilant Guard Training exercises in March.
The restaurant’s campaign will feature 30-ounce Subway, Coca-Cola and USO cups while supplies last. Each cup has a code on it that consumers can text for a chance to win a trip to the Firecracker 250 during the July 4 weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
Lowes Foods will build grocery store at Riverside Commons

Lowes Foods will be anchoring its first grocery store in the Upstate at Riverside Commons, across from Riverside High School, GreerToday.com has learned.
The new concept store, to be built at the corner of Hammett Bridge Road and Suber Road, will be 42,500 square feet and employ about 100. Tentative opening is spring 2016.
