Jason Clark of BIN112 has been selected the Restaurateur of the Year by the Upstate Hospitality Association.
The prestigious award is part of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (SCRLA) recognizing the top members in its association. Peers, suppliers and associates nominate candidates.
Bojangles' opens Monday across from BMW

Bojangles' will open its second Greer restaurant within two months Monday morning.
The restaurant opens at 5 a.m. across from BMW at 1487 Highway 101 South. Owners Lee Ann and Allen Johnston opened Bojangles' at Buncombe in August. The Johnstons own five Bojangles' in the Greenville-Spartanburg area.

That is what was generated Tuesday night when it was announced at City Hall that Greer’s booming economy grossed $843.5 million in retail sails for fiscal year 2014.
Greer Station Cafe new name for restaurant serving traditional menu

Greer Station Café is tentatively scheduled to open Nov. 1, according to Wendy Mitchell owner of the restaurant, formerly Southern Thymes.
Mitchell told GreerToday.com she decided the name change to brand it with the central business district marketed as Greer Station.
Olson calls it a career at CPW at the end of the year

Randy Olson, who helped oversee the greatest growth of Greer Commission of Public Works, will retire effective Dec. 31.
The official announcement for Olson, Engineer & Planning Manager, made mention of his intent to retire. “Randy was in the mix of everything and had more knowledge than anyone. We relied on (Randy) and he delivered,” said Commission Chairman Jeff Howell. “I wish he would stay around. We will definitely miss him.”
Oktoberfest takes over downtown Greer

The Oktoberfest will be held in nearly perfect weather Saturday for a day of food, drink and entertainment on two stages. It is the traditional end to Greer’s festival season.
Roads closed Saturday in downtown Greer for Oktoberfest

Roads will be closed to vehicular traffic in downtown Greer from 6 a.m. Saturday until 1 a.m. Sunday for the annual Oktoberfest.
