Local business owners and associates are invited to a free short course that helps reduce underage access to alcohol and tobacco products in communities, while also lowering the liability risks for businesses and their employees.
The program, designed by The Palmetto Retailers Education Program (PREP) is being conducted by the Greer Police Department on Oct. 15 in two sessions – 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 – 5 p.m. – at City Hall.
Zaxby’s opens Monday at 920 W. Wade Hampton and it couldn’t have arrived fast enough for owners Mike and Tarra Godfrey.
The Godfreys have made known their wishes to operate a Zaxby’s franchise for several years. When the Greer location became available Mike and Tarra vigorously pursued the opportunity. Terra is the owner of Chelsea’s Lady Apparel on Trade Street. Mike is a former beverage salesman.
McDonald’s is offering $1 any size soft drinks and tea beginning today at the Greer location on Memorial Drive Extension and all other participating brand restaurants.
Bobby Connor, a partner with the Greer store and seven other McDonald’s franchises in Greenville County, said coffee is also being offered for $1 except for the specialty drinks.
An IHOP (International House of Pancakes) is being promoted as the prime tenant locating in Greer at the corner of Wade Hampton Boulevard and Suber Road. IHOP will anchor a four-tenant complex that is being marketed by Greenville’s RealtyLink LLC.
IHOP would not comment and RealtyLink neither confirmed nor denied the report to GreerToday.com. However, RealtyLink has produced a brochure it is presenting to potential clients showing IHOP as the anchor tenant with additional 7,360-square feet of availability.
Denny’s is helping combat the epidemic of childhood hunger, for the second year in a row, teaming up with “Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry” campaign, a national movement that is trying to end childhood hunger by connecting kids to the healthy food they need, every day.
Beginning Sunday, Sept. 9, more than 1,100 Denny's nationwide will sell coupon booklets to raise money through “Share Our Strength's Dine Out For No Kid Hungry” program. For $3 customers may purchase $5 worth of coupons redeemable at any participating Denny's through the end of the year.
Counting BMW Z Roadsters was as popular as looking at the license plates where the car owners were from today at the annual ZFest. Owners of the Roadsters came to Trade Street for a few hours to have lunch and visit shops.
Perry Williams introduced a new parking configuration to the visitors that gave Trade Street more vehicles parked than it previously had before. Ironically, the diagonal parking was also discussed by city council as an alternative to the current parallel parking. Perry and his wife, Erin, are BMW Roadster owners.
